In our continued commitment to be transparent and report on our operational health, I am pleased to share our weekly Work-at-Home Transformation briefing. Last week we committed to enabling up to 86% of our workforce to work from home and I am proud to share that we have met our target.
As part of our effort in ensuring that our entire workforce is productive at home, we have multiple daily checkpoints, which are intended to identify individual issues early and remediate quickly with our IT staff and Operations teams. We will continue with stabilization efforts that will invariably occur during a transition of this magnitude over such a short period of time.
Over the past two weeks, we have trained all of our trainers how to successfully complete remote training, learning and development curriculums through our virtual platform. We have already started transitioning to our remote training and nesting processes and we expect to complete these moves by Friday April 10, and be aligned with our 87% work from home goal.
As the virus continues to spread in the U.S. state and local governments continue to institute their own various measures to reduce the impact.
Last week was also another record-setting week. 10 million Americans have now applied for unemployment benefits in the past two weeks.
Fortunately, Everise is in a strong position to continue to hire and support the communities we operate in. We expect to hire over 6,000 agents over the next 4-6 months to support both your business and others.
With the exception of the U.S. the situation on the ground in Guatemala, Philippines, Malaysia and Ireland have not changed significantly. The respective lockdown measures taken by governments are still in effect and are being enforced.
The President of the Philippines has just announced that the Luzon-wide community quarantine will be extended until 30 April. The restrictions in Malaysia are expected to be extended as well. Furthermore, Singapore has just announced new, stricter restrictions on movement. We foresee these extensions extending for the foreseeable future.
New support champions have entered nesting and training in multiple markets and we have begun ramping the hiring of new work-at-home champions in the US, Guatemala and the Philippines.
Our goal is to get our remaining workforce productive at home, increasing to an 87% remote employee population by Friday. Our promise is to continue going the extra mile for you, your customers and our people. If you are having volume growth during this period, please reach out to your Client Partner about how we can help you.
