People of Everise | Kim Langer | Live From Our Living Room

Written by Everise | Dec 9, 2020

Meet Kim Langer, Senior Supervisor for Everise. Last year, we featured Kim in our People of Everise Series, where she shared her passion for gaming and how she applied the skills she learned from games towards her work. Now working at home, Kim sat down with us for a quick interview to catch up on her career and work-at-home life.

Kim Langer began working for Twin Falls Everise as an Operations Supervisor. Her hard work and determination led to her promotion to Senior Supervisor in February of this year. After a few months into her new role, Kim had to transition to a new work-at-home environment due to the pandemic. Despite the rapid changes going on in her life, Kim shared the positive sides of her situation and some of the great things about working at home.

“Transitioning to a new position while transitioning to work at home was interesting, the nice thing at home is that I don’t have to get up as early, get up and get ready, and drive over there. So there’s some cost savings, and time saving, which is nice.”

The new work-at-home setup also brought challenges for Kim. As Senior Supervisor, Kim leads a team of Supervisors who report to her from both off-site and on-site locations. Despite the hurdles in communication and other external factors, Kim and her team have worked around these new challenges through their teamwork.

“The Supervisors that report to me have been wonderful. They’ve been troopers to this whole thing, we’ve been working really well as a team.”

Kim also talked about her love for Studio Ghibli films and showed us her wonderful movie poster collection. She even had them framed in her home office and were visible in the background during our interview. Kim also expressed how grateful she was for Everise’s decision to transition its champions into work at home environments, sharing stories of how the pandemic has affected people she knew in terms of their career and financial stability.

"I’m grateful for the fact that Everise has been able to transition us to work at home. I’ve known many people who have lost their jobs, or hours have been cut. It’s nice to not have been impacted financially, and I’m definitely grateful for that."

Kim ended the interview by sharing her thoughts on Everise’s quick work-at-home transition and how it brought her and other champions a comforting sense of reassurance amidst difficult times. For Kim, being part of the Everise family is something to be thankful for.

"I think it’s something that everyone needs to try and remember. It’s been nice to have that reassurance during times like this. That’s what I’m happy for."
